Here I sit, with my new haircut and clothes. It's like looking at a different person in the mirror— the boy I see there is sexy. I am not accustomed to this. I am a nerd. I am not supposed to be attractive.
After school today, I dragged four girls along instead of the two I mentioned yesterday. First we went to my house, where we dropped off our crap, and then we went to the bank where my mother withdrew money for me, and then we went to the Lloyd Center mall, where we drained $200 from my wallet in less than an hour.
I used to have long, dirty blonde hair that reached down to my nipples. You'd never see me without cargo pants, simply because the things are amazingly handy. You can carry stuff! Tons of stuff, even! Paired with a purple hoodie and a generic t-shirt, my clothing trademark could only be completed with my slip on shoes (see yesterday's post).
The haircut was easy. The girls picked out a style they wanted from a book of David Bowie lookalikes, and then ran away, as they couldn't stand to see my hair get cut. It turned out nicely. It's very cute.
Getting clothes, however, was difficult. As dictated by Sonum, we went into a very dark clothing store where heavy metal pounded from the shitty PA systems and skateboards hung from the ceiling, which gave the impression that you were being slowly suffocated by emo and skater merchandise and apparel. Sonum shoved me (in a loving way) into a dressing room, and gave me oodles of shirts and jeans to try on. Honestly, I looked pretty damn good in everything she threw at me, but... I'm not a skater. Few of the things were "me."
Feh. After a while, I stopped caring, and just figured that I could pull off the look. And I can. But in the meantime, the other girls were freaking out about how Sonum was "forcing clothes upon you" and "changing who you are." This cracked me up. I chose some nice Denim jeans, two tasteful shirts, and an ugly shirt, just for the purpose of freaking people out. I also have a very nice black hoodie with little dark gray designs on it. Thankfully, we didn't have enough money to buy new shoes, because I can't tie them, and I don't think the group believed me when I said I couldn't.
Overall, I look pretty snazzy. I'm quite pleased. I'm looking forward to the reactions of all my various friends. I don't think most people will recognize who I am at first glance.
I would attach a picture of my new look, but the topless mannequin made me titter.
